We´ll leave early in the morning heading north towards the Pyrenees. First we´ll go to Ripoll, to continue later by beautiful winding roads to La Seu D’Urgell. It is the capital of the Alt Urgell region, bordering Andorra. It was one of the most important cities of medieval Catalonia. It emphasizes its cathedral of Century V.
We have spent the first night near the Pre-Pyrenees and we already have a slight idea of what lies ahead. After breakfast we´ll get on the bikes to get into the Pyrenees. We´ll pass through the picturesque village of Vielha, where the luxurious ski resort of Baqueira Beret is located. Then we´ll make a brief incursion through twisting French roads, to re-enter Spain and go to our next destination: Monte Perdido. An idyllic enclave in the Pyrenees of Huesca, where we can rest enjoying the beautiful views from the hotel.
Today is the main day of curves. We´ll face the most feared ports of the Tour of France: Tourmalet (2,115 m) and Col D’Aubisque (1,705 m). After enjoying linking continuous mountain passes of the French Pyrenees, we´ll return to Spain through the ski resort of Formigal. A few kilometers later we will arrive at a beautiful hotel, where we can rest returning to enjoy some privileged views.
Today touches a smoother day of curves. We will enjoy filming along the itinerary of the Camino de Santiago. We will pass by Jaca, Sos del Rey Católico and we will stop in Pamplona to stretch our legs walking along part of the route of the Encierros de San Fermín (the famous running of the bulls). Then we´ll continue along a beautiful road until we reach our next destination: San Sebastián.
Nice place to have a rest day. In San Sebastian we can´t miss a walk through the Bay of La Concha, go for snacks in the old part of San Sebastian, see the views from Mount Igueldo, etc … The most daring can surf on the famous beach of Zurriola.
After finishing our journey on our way along the route of the two seas, we will return to the Mediterranean. The way back will be through the Pre-Pyrenees. The mountain passes will be much smoother than going, but we´ll not stop enjoying with beautiful views. After a stop in Jaca to take forces with the pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago, we will go to our next destination: Barbastro, the capital of Somontano. The denomination of origin of Somontano wine was created in 1984 and since then it has not stopped evolving and gaining prestige.
On our last motorcycle day, we will continue enjoying beautiful landscapes and winding roads until we reach Barcelona. Farewell dinner.
